As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to harm neighborhoods across the city, CPS is planning to have some teachers back in school as soon as Jan. 4, 2021. Parents and community members, as well as teachers, paraprofessionals, and clinicians, have questions: What supports will be in place for in-person learning? What safety measures will be in place? What if my child remains in remote learning - can it be improved? Given that schools across the 17th Senate District faced real funding and resource inequities before the pandemic, it is vital that our overwhelmingly Black and Brown students and their families get what they need. Please join CTU Vice President Stacy Davis Gates and myself for a virtual town hall on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 4:30pm. You can register for the event here.
